George Harrison's Solo Catalogue Treated to 'The Vinyl Collection'
Published Jan 17, 2017For the first time, George Harrison's solo work is being packaged together in a massive vinyl collection. Fittingly titled George Harrison – The Vinyl Collection, the box set will arrive on February 24 through Universal.
The set includes all 12 of Harrison's solo LPs (complete with replicas of the original tracklistings and artwork), the 2-LP Live in Japan album and two 12-inch picture discs of "When We Was Fab" and "Got My Mind Set on You." The releases span from 1968's Wonderwall Music up to 2002's Brainwashed.
All of the discs have been remastered from their original analogue master tapes and pressed on 180-gram heavyweight vinyl, and are packaged in two-piece rigid slipcase boxes.
Each of the LPs included in the collection will also be made available individually, though All Things Must Pass will only be up for grabs as a limited-edition offering.
In addition to the remastered solo album box set, an extended 632-page version of Harrison's autobiography I Me Mine is being released. It features additional photographs and expanded lyric sheets for more than 50 songs that weren't previously included, and also arrives on February 24.
