When A24 dropped its twisted seaman thriller The Lighthouse last year, its story might have felt familiar. As a keen-eyed video editor has now proven, that's because it's basically the same movie as Step Brothers.

No, really. Video editor Dominick Nero has provided a new mashup of the two films, and it serves as a perfect argument that the fraternal lunacy on display in Adam McKay's classic comedy has a lot in common with that in Robert Eggers's latest work.

While the jury's still out on whether Will Ferrell is Willem Dafoe and John C. Reilly is Robert Pattinson or vice versa, you can watch the satisfying viral clip below.
