Depeche Mode "Personal Jesus" (SUBshockers remix)
With their remix of Waka Flocka Flame's "No Hands" recently in rotation on Power 106 in Los Angeles, Hawthorne, CA-based duo SUBshockers represent the good part about a post-Skrillex dubstep climate in the U.S. The group's incorporation of live percussive elements (in the form of a real-life drummer) adds depth to their grooves and lends an organic feel to a genre rooted in dark minimalism.

In some ways, Depeche Mode seems like an obvious band to run through the wobble-bass dubstep machine, but in many ways, the iconic swing of "Personal Jesus" is a tough fit with the triplet swagger of most of the SUBshockers' remixes. It's the natural way the two grooves fit together that make this a particularly compelling track, as the pair manage to combine two distinct rhythmic styles into something ready for a frat house brostep party that still retains the character and charm of the original.
