The film will still see the return of Keanu Reeves as Neo, Carrie-Anne Moss reprising her role as Trinity and Jada Pinkett Smith playing Niobe. As previously reported, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II will be joining the cast for the fourth instalment, alongside Jonathan Groff, Jessica Henwick and Neil Patrick Harris.
The sequel to the original Matrix trilogy will be directed by Lana Wachowski (Lilly Wachowski has stepped back from the latest project). Lana penned the script alongside Aleksandar Hemon and novelist David Mitchell.
